City & Culture Tour- full day experience
Firstly, we drive to Ampenan, where you will visit the traditional market Kebon Roek and experience local daily life. Local people come to this market to buy fresh vegetables, spices, fish and household goods. As you walk through the market, you will see the vibrant atmosphere and interact with friendly locals.
Then, we continue Mataram City, the capital of Lombok. Here, you will visit the impressive Islamic Centre Mosque, the largest mosque of the island. This modern landmark is not only a place of worship but also an important cultural symbol. If you wish to enter the mosque, modest clothing is required. Therfore, women are kindly asked to cover their arms and legs as a sign of respect.
After that, we head to Lingsar Temple, one of the most unique cultural sites in Lombok. This temple represents the harmony between Hindu and Muslim traditions.
During your visit, a local guide will explain the history and spiritual meaning behind this sacred place. In addition, you will learn how both religions, Hindu and Muslims, peacefully life in harmony and share this site for their ceremonies.
Exploring Traditional Handicraft Villages in Lombok
Then, we continue to Sukarara Hand weaving Village, known for its traditional handwoven textiles called Tenun. At this village, you can see how these beautiful fabrics are made entirely by hand. Moreover, you will learn about the local tradition where young women must be able to weave before marriage. A local guide will show you around and explain all about this unique weaving process. This makes the visit a truly cultural and memorable experience.
From Sukarara Hand weaving Village we head to Banyumulek Pottery village, famous for its traditional handmade ceramics.
At this village, local artisans demonstrate how pottery is created using traditional techniques passed down trough generations. In addition, you can try making some pottery yourself and browae a varity of handmade souvenirs.
Finally, we start our journey back to your hotel in Senggigi area. Meanwhile, enjoy views of local villages and daily life in Lombok, completing a day full of cultural highlights.
