What to Expect from This Lombok Culture Tour
Pick up time from your hotel 8.30 am
At first from your hotel, we head towards Ampenan, passing the vibrant local market of Kebon Roek. Here locals buy and sell their daily necessities, which is a great opportunity to experience authentic local life in Lombok.
Then, we visit the historic Lingsar Temple, one of the most unique cultural sites on the island. Here, you will witness the harmonious blend of Hindu and Muslim traditions. In addition, a local guide will explain the fascinating history and symbolism behind this sacred place.
Visit Benang Stokel & Benang Kelambu Waterfalls
We continue our journey trough the lush Narmada region, known for it’s tropical fruits such as rambutan, durian, and mangosteen. Along the way, enjoy scenic views of rice fields and observe daily farming activities.
Then, upon arrival at the Benang Stokel Waterfalls, a local motorbike taxi will take you and your local guide to the magical Benang Kelambu Waterfall. This hidden gem is famous for it’s curtain-like streams flowing down lush green cliffs. Here, you can take your time to relax, swim, and enjoy nature.
Coming back from visiting the Benang Kelambu, the motorbike taxi will bring you back to the starting point. From there, you will take a short 15-minute walk to the beautiful Benang Stokel Waterfall. Also here, you will have time to enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Local lunch & Traditional Village Experience
Then, after exploring the waterfalls, we stop for a local lunch at a traditional warung (small local restaurant). Choose from popular Indonesian dishes such as nasi goreng (fried rice), mie goreng (fried noodles) or mie kuah (noodle soup).
After that, in the afternoon, we visit Sukarara Hand Weaving Village, where you can see how traditional Lombok textiles, called Tenun, are made by hand. It is a unique cultural experience, as women in the village traditionally learn this craft before marriage.
A local guide will take you through the village and explain the entire process of how these unique handwoven fabrics are made. You will then see locals working on their porches using traditional techniques. If you like, try it yourself for a truly authentic Lombok experience.
Finally, after visiting the village, we drive back to the Senggigi area and drop you off at your hotel, ending a memorable day full of nature, culture, and local experience.
